About Us, Jojoy Hub

The Man Behind the Reviews

My name is James Harry. I run Jojoy Hub.

I did not start this site because I wanted to. I started it because I was tired of reading reviews written by people who clearly had never opened the app.

Every review said the same thing. Either “100% safe, download now” or “your phone will get hacked in five minutes.” Nobody in the middle. Nobody who actually tested anything.

So I started testing things myself. And then I started writing about what I actually found.

That is what this site is.

What I Do Differently

Most app review sites work like this: they copy the app description from the Play Store, paste a screenshot they found on Google Images, and publish. Done in ten minutes.

I do not work that way.

Before I write anything, I:

  • Download the real APK from the official source
  • Install it on actual hardware — not a simulator, not a virtual machine
  • Run it through VirusTotal and check every engine result
  • Analyze the permissions the app requests and why
  • Monitor the network traffic to see what it is sending and where
  • Test it on multiple devices with different Android versions and brands
  • Write down everything I notice — good and bad

Only after all of that do I sit down and write.

My Test Devices

I keep three phones on my desk at all times for testing:

DeviceOSAndroid Version
Samsung Galaxy A54One UI 6Android 14
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12MIUI / HyperOSAndroid 13
OnePlus N10 5GOxygenOSAndroid 11

These are real mid-range phones. The kind most people actually use. Not flagship devices that make every app look perfect.

If an app has a problem on a Xiaomi running MIUI, I will find it. If a Samsung One UI security setting blocks an install, I will tell you exactly what to do. I write for real people with real phones.

My Focus Areas

I write about three main things on this site:

1. App Security and Safety

I check what apps actually do, not just what they claim to do. Permissions, traffic, SDKs, and behavior. I tell you what the risks are and how serious they really are.

2. Sideloading and Third-Party Stores

I cover mod APK stores, sideloading methods, unknown sources settings, and everything around installing apps outside the Google Play Store. I explain the difference between what is actually risky and what is just unfamiliar.

3. Mod APK Reviews

I test modded games and apps honestly. I tell you which ones work, which ones break, and which ones you should stay away from completely.

My Rating System

I do not give 10/10 to apps just to get clicks. I do not give 1/10 to apps just to sound scary.

My ratings are based on real criteria:

  • Installer cleanliness (VirusTotal scan)
  • Permission scope and what they are actually used for
  • Network traffic and data transparency
  • Mod content quality and vetting
  • Real-world performance on my test devices

If I give an app 6.5/10, I tell you exactly why it is 6.5 and not 8. I also tell you who should use it and who should stay away.

Why I Started Jojoy Hub

I kept seeing the same pattern. Someone would search “is [app name] safe” and find either a fake five-star review full of affiliate links, or a panic article written by someone who had never installed the app.

Neither one helped anyone.

I tested the Jojoy App myself on all three of my phones. I uploaded it to VirusTotal. I monitored its network traffic. I analyzed all 26 permissions. And then I wrote about what I actually found, including the things that concerned me, not just the things that looked good.

That kind of honest, hardware-tested writing is what I want this site to be.

A Note on Honesty

I will always tell you when something worries me.

If an app has 60+ ad and analytics domains calling home, I will tell you. If it uses cleartext HTTP traffic, I will tell you. If a mod might get your gaming account banned, I will tell you that too.

I am not here to sell you apps. I am here to help you make a smarter decision about whether to install them.

Articles I Have Written

I read every message. I may not reply to all of them, but if you point out a real mistake in my testing, I will fix it and give you credit.
